Do you love media arts? What about coordination, community events, and production on the island of Nantucket? Nantucket Community Television is the island’s only Media Arts Center. We seek a Production Coordinator to help organize, schedule, and execute creative content around various topics. The Production Coordinator will report to the Head of Production and Director of Programming and will be responsible for coordinating and booking station-wide production services, crews, and other administrative support.
NCTV’s Production Coordinator will be responsible for operational and project management duties, which involve supporting Directors throughout all phases of production related to station production, marketing campaigns, and NCTV’s member services.
This position requires collaborative work within a small team to ensure that all needs and production details are communicated efficiently and cleanly executed.
- Track incoming creative briefs and client intake meetings, manage assets and folder organization for new projects, and update status documents and tracking platforms accordingly.
- Facilitate the logistics of multiple productions simultaneously and throughout various phases of production.
- Schedule and organize crews in relation to the needs of creative, under the direction of the Head of Production and Director of Programming on a per-project basis.
- Effectively communicate project details such as deadlines, changes in schedule(s), and program updates to appropriate team members as needed.
- Support production(s) as it pertains to client projects, original programming, and educational programming, directly reporting to the Head of Production and Director of Programming
- Book production-related shoots with artists, crew, cast, and clients for events, interviews, voiceovers, podcasts, studio-based productions, whisper booth productions, auditions, etc., as assigned.
- Act as a liaison to multiple departments and cross-functional staff members, including Production Services, Member Services, Marketing, Sports Broadcasting, Programming/Development, Government, and Education
- Schedule meetings and maintain the calendar for Department-wide meetings and projects in production
- Actively participate in department and team brainstorms
- Manage, process, and track all production team invoices to assist the Director of Finance
- Assist the Director of Finance with any travel coordination and general station expenses
- Work with project managers to assist in keeping all estimates and billing up to date
- Oversee and facilitate all Member Services requests and rentals, including check-outs and check-ins, and train interns and assistants on the appropriate protocols.
- Partner with Directors to assist with other creative projects as needed
- Collaborate with Production team members to ensure budget expectations are met, staffing needs are communicated, and post/deliverables are executed on time
- Manage production paperwork including, but not limited to, shoot reports, scripts, info sheets, call sheets, and workflows
- Support the station’s operations with various office and administrative responsibilities
- Collect and organize programming details. Work with marketing to update the website and social media accounts with these details.
- Other duties as assigned to support the organization’s mission.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional media arts experience with a television station, film studio, production company, newspaper, radio station, or other relevant entertainment experience required.
Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Passion for television and entertainment.
- Experience with audio/visual production and post-production management.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize a wide range of responsibilities.
- Multitasking and highly organized.
- Understanding of current trends in the media industry.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently when necessary.
- Ability to work under pressure and stick to tight deadlines within a prescribed budget.
- Strong communicator who can take feedback constructively and contribute to an environment of communication and accountability.
- Must be comfortable working with technology.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime and on weekends with short notice.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States.
Required On-Site: This position must be performed full-time from Nantucket Community Television at 9A Bayberry Court, Nantucket, Massachusetts.
