My name is David Gauthier and Iโve been a proud community media professional for 25 years. Iโm currently the Executive Director at Winchester Community Access & Media and in February, Iโll have been on the job here at WinCAM for 13 years. I first got involved with MassAccess to learn more about the industry from other professionals. I wanted to help improve our vocation for all those involved.
At MassAccess, I serve as:
- President, where I preside over board meetings and serve as a main point of contact for the organization.
- Chair of the Legislative committee, where I work with state and local legislators to raise awareness of issues and hopefully pass legislation that will secure future success.
- Member of the Governance committee, where we meet to discuss organizational policy and issues that arise with our members.
- Member of the Membership committee, where I help to maintain the membership database, process renewals and signups and make updates and changes to our website.
Working on the MassAccess board is rewarding to me because I feel that I have a chance to make a real difference. Our industry needs as much advocacy as it can get and I feel like working on this board gives me the opportunity to do my part. My favorite event is the Spring Conference. Iโm sure it helps that itโs my favorite time of year, but I get a lot of positive energy out of the conference every year. Itโs great to be around so many people who have similar goals and similar barriers to achieving them. The day is always really busy but itโs gratifying to see so many people enjoying the day.

When Iโm not at work, you can likely find me in my yard in Salem, MA where Iโve lived my whole life. I love being outside and being active. My greatest passion in life is working with young people coaching baseball and softball. Iโve coached kids ages 6 to 19 over the last 20+ years and itโs the best hobby a person could have, in my opinion. It has also helped me to bond with my three kids, Paul, Julia and John. My wife Jana and I also play softball in a co-ed league in Salem, so itโs all about the diamond in our house!
