The program is open to all students who are majoring in Journalism, English, Communications, or related field of study. You’ll be shooting, writing, and editing stories for the weekly newscast. Students may also earn college credit depending upon the specifications of their particular school or can volunteer for non-credit. The ability to write stories in a clear, concise, and compelling manner is extremely important. Prior technical experience is a bonus but not a requirement. You’ll be expected to produce at least one news story per week, with an average length of 2 to 3 minutes. You will be expected to do some research in order to find news stories and upcoming events that are relevant to the area. This is a great opportunity to have a resume reel ready by the time you finish your internship.
