MassAccess is pleased to announce that Brett Poirier and Jonathan Grabowski have been appointed to our board effective immediately. Jonathan and Brett are the first two additions in MassAccess’ board expansion plan. More new board members are being considered and will be announced at the Annual Meeting, taking place before the Mass Creator Awards on January 29, 2019. We’re thrilled that so many qualified community media professionals have stepped up to apply for positions with our organization and because there is so much work to be done, the board decided to take on Jonathan and Brett right away.

Our two new board members come at a good time as we say goodbye and thank you to long-time board member, Bill Nay. Bill had been a mainstay with MassAccess since 2007 and had served in many positions, including Board President. MassAccess would like to thank Bill for his years of service and dedication to community media in Massachusetts and beyond. Luckily for us, Bill is still working in the field and can be a valuable source of information for us when needed.

Brett is the General Manager of Medfield TV. He started his career in Access Television at North TV in North Attleborough as an announcer for his local wrestling program. That role grew into a full time role as Access Coordinator and eventually to where he is now at Medfield TV. His favorite part of access television is being able to help others put together programs of their own. Brett is also the Chairman of the Massachusetts Wrestling Association and coaches a youth wrestling team which spans from Kindergarten to 8th grade in his home town.

Jonathan has been the Executive Director of Marshfield Community Television since 2008 and has over 15 years’ experience in the television production world. Jonathan was previously the Vice-Chairman of the Hanover Community Media Committee and served as a consultant to the Town of Norwell’s Cable TV Committee. He is a former two term President of the Marshfield Chamber of Commerce and a member of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Committee.

At MassAccess, we always stress that we are a “working” board. Sometimes that description and the tasks that accompany it are daunting for those considering a volunteer position with us. Please remember that you don’t have to be on the board to be involved. MassAccess is still hoping to form committees who will help with event planning, fundraising, video production and more. If you have some time to give, let us know!
