As you know by now, the MassAccess Fall Meet & Greet Series was designed to assemble community media professionals in an informal setting to discuss common goals and common problems. Every year, we try to come up with an overall theme that is relevant to our ever-changing landscape. This year, we decided that we’d concentrate on alternative revenue streams, fundraising and marketing. Our funding may not be guaranteed in the future, so it’s more important than ever to get out in front of potential funding cuts and establish alternative revenue. Monday, October 2nd – Reading Community TV – MassAccess Board members Erich Archer, Melinda Garfield & Dana Healy will present a panel on alternative revenue, underwriting and sponsorship. Learn how to find, keep, and maximize these opportunities from experts who are already doing it! This is an amazing chance to learn what has worked and maybe more importantly, what hasn’t worked in a community media setting.
Tuesday, October 3rd – Bridgewater TV – Joe Tragert is a consultant and Senior Director of Product Management EBSCO Information Services and an adjunct professor at Endicott College’s Executive Leadership program. Endicott provides contractors to do an analysis of an organization and the market opportunities they may have. Joe is currently working with Cape Ann TV to re-brand, with a heavy focus on generating revenue. Joe will discuss the process and the execution of the plan.
Wednesday, October 4th – Amherst Media – Nick Savarese is Vice President of Advancement and Marketing at Special Olympics Massachusetts. Currently, Nick is focusing on leading philanthropic and marketing efforts for Special Olympics Massachusetts. His specialties include Fundraising, Event Management, Marketing, Sales, Communications/Public Relations, Volunteer Management, Strategic Planning, Inter-sector Collaboration and Grant Writing.
